Postdoctoral Position in Behavioral Neuroscience:
Postdoctoral fellowship available immediately to work on research projects addressing neural adaption and recovery in animal models of alcohol-related disorders in the laboratory of Dr. Lisa Savage. Our laboratory employs an interdisciplinary approach including rodent cognitive assessment coupled with molecular, biochemical, and neuroanatomical techniques.
Outstanding, highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology or behavioral neuroscience will be considered, but we are especially interested in pursuing a neural network approach to cognitive recovery and intervention. Successful candidates need to have a strong background in neuroscience, the neurobiology of memory, or related area, with solid writing and data analysis skills.
Experience with rodent behavioral testing and neuroanatomy are key skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with DREADDS and/ or optogenetics. Strong writing, analytical and statistical skills are needed for grant-related publications.
